One World Black Sea Foundation, has directly reached tens of thousands of people, especially women and children, with its social impact projects carried out in 2025. Most recently, the Foundation renovated the building of the Osu Orphanage in Ghana, improving the living conditions for children. ISTANBUL (IGFA) - Operating in line with the social benefit approach of Karadeniz Holding, the One World Black Sea Foundation continues its work with permanent and sustainable social impact models that go beyond short-term aids. The Foundation stands out with its projects focusing on children and women, especially in Africa and Latin America. In the last two years, orphanage renovation projects carried out in Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, and Ivory Coast have provided healthier and safer living spaces for over 300 children. In this context, the Osu Children’s Home Orphanage, located in Accra, Ghana's capital, was reopened after a comprehensive renovation process. In addition to flooring, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work, new beds, doors-windows, and ceiling fans were installed, giving the orphanage a modern structure. In her assessment regarding the 2025 activities, One World Black Sea Foundation Vice President Zeynep Harezi Yılmaz emphasized their aim to transform social benefit into long-term impact. Yılmaz noted that so far more than 55,000 students in Turkey and Africa have been provided with scholarships and educational support, particularly contributing to the completion of girls’ education. Among the foundation’s 2025 priorities are women and girls; with Girl Power, Girl Move Academy, and Women in Energy Network projects, long-term support programs in education and employment are ongoing. Studies carried out in cooperation with the World Bank aim to increase female employment in the energy sector. Additionally, the foundation develops permanent social support models in disaster and crisis zones. Following the February 6, 2023 earthquakes, Lifeship Süheyla Sultan and Lifeship Rauf Bey, operational in İskenderun, provided shelter, education, and health services together, supporting thousands of people.
